Deep Refrigerator Cleaning

Maintaining a clean refrigerator is very important as it houses your families food!  Allergens, raw food, and bacteria can combine to make a mess in your refrigerator. Aim to clean your refrigerator at least monthly, or anytime it has become dirty from things like food spills, says the owner of house cleaning San Antonio.  You should also aim to regularly clear out old food to help avoid contaminating fresh food and your refrigerator shelves from rotting food.

To be safe, use a mild dish soap for the interior of the refrigerator.  You can also use baking soda for tough stains. A mild all purpose soap, or a vinegar and water mixture, can be used to wash the exterior of the refrigerator.  Never use bleach, or other harsh chemicals, inside of the refrigerator. Harsh chemicals can contaminate your food and be harmful to your families health.

Follow these steps below for a deep refrigerator clean.

1 – Remove all food and condiments from inside.

2 – Remove all shelves and drawers.  Wash these in your sink with a mild dish soap and warm water.

3 – Use a warm water and mild dish soap mixture to wash the interior of the refrigerator, and use baking soda to help loosen tough stains.  Don’t forget corners and crevices.

4 – Wash the exterior of the refrigerator with a vinegar and water mixture.

6 – Put everything back inside and enjoy your clean refrigerator!
