Baking soda and vinegar are simple all natural and magical cleaning tools. They can be used to regularly clean all throughout your house, and for other household tasks such as clogged drains, odor removal, and stain removal.  Using baking soda and vinegar is also a great and easy way to clean your oven. Read on below for steps to clean your oven using an all natural baking soda and vinegar mixture.

  1. First empty out the oven, including all oven racks.
  2. Make a baking soda and water paste.  Start with half a cup of baking soda and gradually add water until you have a nice paste consistency.
  3. Spread the paste throughout the interior of the oven.  Be careful to not cover any of the heating elements. Make sure to coat the greasy areas well, and try to get the whole interior coated.  Let the paste sit in the oven for up to 12 hours.
  4. While the paste is working inside the oven, thoroughly clean all the racks and any other interior oven parts that you took out.
  5. Once the paste has set for about 12 hours, wipe down the interior of the oven with a damp rag.  If you can not get the dried paste off, try to scrap it off as needed.
  6. After this, use a spray bottle filled with vinegar to get off any left over baking soda.  The vinegar will help to eat away and dislodge the baking soda as the chemicals react with each other.
  7. Wipe the interior of the oven again with a damp rag.  Repeat steps 5 and 6 until all the baking soda and vinegar is wiped away.  Once the oven is fully cleaned, replace anything that you took out when you started the process over 12 hours ago!  Now enjoy your clean oven!
