Hard water stains can be unsightly and annoying, and are usually left over from water with a high mineral content. The bathrooms and kitchen sink are usually some of the worst areas of the home. Luckily, an all natural vinegar cleaning solution can easily tackle the problem.
To start off, make a mixture of half white vinegar and half water in a spray bottle. Spray the solution liberally on the hard water stains, and let it soak in for a few minutes. Once it has set in, take a cloth and start wiping away the hard water deposit stains. After the stain has been removed, rinse the area with water, and dry with a rag. Use a dry microfiber cloth to buff the area clean and completely dry afterwards.
If your shower heads or faucets are stained or clogged up, take them off and soak them in a bowl of vinegar. The vinegar will eat away at the mineral deposits and they should flow freely after a soaking. Another method is to tie a plastic bag filled with vinegar around the faucet or shower head. This will allow the deposits to soak in the vinegar without taking anything apart.
To help prevent stain buildup, always be sure to wipe areas dry after each use. This can be an annoying task, but it will get rid of the mineral buildup before it has time to dry and stick to your surfaces.
